Gifty Hodey-Manye, a renowned Ghanaian Agricultural journalist and influencer has been selected to participate in the prestigious “Agricultural Influencers Sponsorship Program 2025” in Morocco under the theme “Crop Quality”. The program, scheduled to take place from February 10 to 14, 2025, at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, aims to empower future agricultural leaders and influencers in Africa.
As one of the selected influencers from Africa, Gifty Hodey-Manye, popularly known as Enyonam Manye, will join a cohort of agricultural influencers and leaders from across the continent for the five-day interactive training program. The sessions, led by experts, will focus on sustainable practices for tropical agriculture, with a special emphasis on crop quality.
Enyonam, who has dedicated the last five years of her life to promoting agriculture and entrepreneurship, expressed her excitement about the opportunity. “I am thrilled to be part of this program, which aligns with my passion for promoting sustainable agricultural practices in Africa. I look forward to learning from experts and sharing my own experiences with fellow influencers.”
The program, led by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), the University of Sao Paulo (USP), and the OCP Foundation, seeks to nurture and empower future agricultural leaders and influencers in Africa. By providing critical insights into sustainable practices for tropical agriculture, the program aims to contribute to a stronger, more resilient crop quality and agricultural future for the continent.
Enyonam’s selection for this program is a testament to her tireless efforts to promote agriculture and entrepreneurship in Ghana and beyond. Her participation in the program is expected to further amplify her influence and contribute to the growth of sustainable agriculture in Africa.
Meanwhile, being one of the individuals named among 16 young Africans as the top influencers reshaping agriculture on the continent in 2024, she also emerged as the Agri Journalist Of The Year in 2023 at the African Women in Agribusiness Awards organized by Guzakuza.
Since her extensive documentaries on agriculture started, she has been part of different international programs to boost her knowledge in the sector from other jurisdictions.
She was also part of young Africans who participated in the African Food System conference in Zimbabwe in September last year, organized by Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Zimbabwe and Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA).
Besides, the host of the Ghanaian Farmer TV Show on Joy Prime TV was also at the 18th International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition in Turkey, one of the four biggest international agricultural and livestock exhibitions in Europe, AGROEXPO in February 2023, featuring local and foreign tractor manufacturers, farmers and organizations into agriculture and livestock. Enyonam highlighted the achievements of farmers in Ghana, challenges and opportunities.
Enyonam Manye is the host of The Ghanaian Farmer TV show on JoyPrime TV and YouTube, with over 60,000 subscribers and thousands of followers on other platforms, including X, Facebook and LinkedIn. She is also the founder and Executive Director of Count on Crops Hub.
The budding agribusiness entrepreneur is also the brain behind the Young Farmers Development Organization (YOFDO), which aims at nurturing young people to become agribusiness owners with decent incomes while contributing to food security.
The organization is currently leading a project dubbed Agric4Girls launched in May 2024.
