Gifty Hodey Manye, a prominent agricultural journalist and content creator, has been making waves in Ghana’s agricultural sector with her passion-driven work.
As the founder and host of The Ghanaian Farmer show on YouTube and Joy Prime TV, Gifty has become a household name in the industry, inspiring young Ghanaians and Africans to explore opportunities in agriculture.
Through her work, Gifty has produced compelling interviews with farmers, agricultural investors, and experts, showcasing the vast potential of Ghana’s agricultural industry. Her dedication has earned her a spot among the top 11 finalists in the New Day Education International Journalistic Competition, organised by RUDN University and supported by the Russian Ministry of Education.
“I’m counting down the hours until I jet off to Russia as one of the top 11 finalists… I’m beyond excited and grateful for the opportunity to represent agricultural journalism on this global stage,” Gifty wrote on Facebook.
Gifty credits her professor, Prof. Mustapha Jamui, for guiding her through the competition process. “With his guidance and support, I embarked on this incredible journey,” she said. Her experience has taught her the importance of social media in shaping careers.
“A key takeaway is the power of social media in shaping our careers. I’ve made it a point to use my platforms to educate, inform, and entertain, and I encourage you to do the same,” Gifty emphasised.
Gifty’s recognition is a testament to her hard work and dedication to promoting agriculture in Ghana. Her journey serves as an inspiration to young journalists and agribusiness enthusiasts alike, showcasing the impact of passion and perseverance in driving positive change.
The first stage of the competition had more than 500 participants from 55 countries.
The winner among the 11 finalists will be awarded a full scholarship to RUDN University.
